At the beginning of July, during one week, the San Fermín is celebrated in the streets of Pamplona in Navarra. Every morning at 8 o’clock in the morning, bulls are released in the city.

Bilbao’s Semana Grande. The Semana Grande takes place in the 3rd week of August in the Basque Country and it is in Bilbao that it is most notable. It is a festival where a multitude of concerts of all genres are organised. Every night there is a fireworks competition. Some bullfights and giants.

Fiestas of Christians and Moors in Alicante:

The Fiestas de Cristianos y Moros are very popular in the region of Alicante, which you can see for yourself if you do your internship there. But also all over the south of Spain. It is a re-enactment of the Moorish takeover of Spain and then the Christian takeover.

Las Fallas in Valencia :

Las Fallas take place in Valencia, on the Costa Blanca where you can do your internship thanks to Animafest. It is a 5-day festival which ends on Saint Joseph’s day, 19th March. Cardboard giants are created and then the best ones are burnt during the “cremà”, the climax of the festival.

Seville Fair :

The Feria de Sevilla usually takes place 2 weeks after Semana Santa which runs from the 10th to the 16th of April. It is a sort of summary of the image we have of Andalusia: flamenco, bullfighting, Jerez (Xeres) and horses. Traditional music, parades, etc.

New Year’s Eve celebrations in Spain :

There are 3 equally important holidays for Spaniards: Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Three Kings’ Day. Spanish children are lucky because they receive more presents than other children.
